- Face Shape, Perfect Cut
Seasons come and seasons go, but here at Craft & Co. we know that the shape of your face has a huge impact on the perfect hairstyle for you. Your hair frames your face and can give you a wide range of different looks depending on how it is styled. Here are a few tips from our stylists on how to match your face shape with your cut.
Learn Your Face Shape
There are six main face shapes: oval, round, square, heart, oblong and diamond. Your stylist can help you determine the shape of your face or you can look at a chart and decide which one most closely matches your own. Try to do this with your hair pulled back away from your face so it doesn’t distort the natural shape of your jaw line and forehead.
Choosing a Cut
As you consider each haircut, think about where your hair will fall along your face. For instance, women with an oval-shaped face should choose either very short or very long hair, but avoid hair that is mid-length because it may make the face look longer. On the other hand, those with a round face should look for something asymmetrical that gives the face more dimension.
Other aspects of your cut that you should consider are bangs and your part. Moving the part to one side or the other may change your look completely, and adding bangs can help reduce the appearance of exaggerated features like the forehead.
